Stand Up Paddle

Stand-up Paddle boarding, a.k.a SUP, originated in Hawaii in the 1960’s.   Surf instructors used the technique for better visibility so they could see what was going on around them.  The sport has recently gained popularity with people riding SUP’s on lakes, rivers, and oceans.

Pollo Surf School offers SUP tours on the Gulfo Dulce.  Standing above the water allows for viewing of the abundant wildlife that lives in the warm waters of the Gulf.  Turtles, manta rays, dolphins, and a variety of fish species can all be viewed while gliding across the surface of the water.

SUP is not only a visual experience, but you’ll also get an excellent physical work out without even knowing it!  SUP builds strengths and improves balance by utilizing your core strength.  This tour takes place around high tide so that the water is calmer making for an easier learning experience.

**The Pollo Surf School SUP tour is a cruising tour.  There is no instruction on catching and riding waves.
